I have come across a seven-barrelled flintlock gun (carbine bore, I think), the lock stamped 'E. BAKER' (I assume Ezekiel Baker, of rifle fame). It is almost full stocked and mounted on a swivel.
Does anyone know if Baker was making volley guns around the same time as Nock was turning out his more famous weapon - or is it a one off?
A-N,
I think this is a one off. Ezekiel started his career as a gunsmith as an apprentice to Henry Nock, making one of the volley guns might have been part of this apprenticeship.
Trike.

Ah - that sounds plausible. Thanks!
I remeber reading that Browning invented a repeating weapon around 1830. It consisted of a metal block, bored out a number of times to match the bore of the gun. You loaded all the chambers, then as you fired one, you moved the next one up by hand, primed the flint lock and fired again. Anybody ever heard of it??
Hi Fred,
It was called a Harmonica gun.
It's the first time I'd ever heard of this gun, always something new to learn.
Trike.
T%hanks for that link. I must admit, I was a reader of J T Edson many years ago,and he gave one of his characters this weapon.
Re the volley gun. Patrick Harper in the Sharpes series also carries a volley gun.
