I was wondering how I could find out what forces were stationed where and from what ports particular forces embarked from for D-Day.
I was particulary wondering about my neck of the woods in Sussex - such as ports like Shoreham and Littlehampton. Anyone know where I might find such info?
Hit Stoggler,
I took three links on your question belowe and so you could have a try, they also have further links for further research.

Thomas

Every Jack...
can tell you , that during D-Day he had his Jill-KGBer, Stoggler.
What was going on over the Stoggler's thread ? The second D-Day?
Thank you for ruining this thread. Satisfied?

Sell your coat to buy a book...as one saying goes.
having visited the Nothe Fort in Weymouth ,I learned that some of the Americans who landed on Omaha beach left from there .
There is quite a bit of information in the fort on that.
There is also a big museum at Southsea/Portsmouth on D-Day.
Please see my messsage here:
Many thanks
Andrew
