    Dear Snezzypeanut,
Yes, unfortunately thousands upon thousands do, the disorder is not restricted to members of the military, although 'Shell shock' was an early term for it.
I expect that you have already sought help and have therefore been formerly diagnosed with this malady, I hope your treatment will help.
I do not know if posters to this site will be able to direct you to some useful literature.
I don't think Pat Barkers novel 'Regeneration', the only thing I can think of at this moment, would be particularly helpful.

    Hi Snezzypeanut.

Nope, your not alone. The problem is that the one other lad who posted on here who did suffer from PTSD has retired to Greece and no longer posts regularily.

if you have full time access to the internet could I suggest googgling ARRSE, or Army rumour Information service.

Its a site run by current and ex service people and I would be higly suprised if they cant help you or put you incontact with folk who can.

Its also got some incredibly smutty jokes.

Well worth looking for those alone.

    Snezzypeanut,

Sorry about your condition. Did you happen to watch 'Countryfile' yesterday (Sunday)? It included a piece about overstressed military people being given flights in gliders as treatment for their condition, the principle being that the slight and enjoyable stress of participating in glider flights tends to gradually replace and supersede the battle stress.
