I was fortunate to be helped by a stranger to find records of my uncle's service record WW2 and share it with my family. I am a bit stumped by my search for any mention of my grandfather who was in the Manchester Regiment 24th Battalion Oldham which became a Pioneer Battalion, probably digging trenches. Are there online lists of the men who were in such battalions. He was born in Denton Lancs, or will they only be remembered as groups not individuals?
