I am now trying to trace my Dad's birth father. I found his mother and now have some details re his father.
He was John Edward Anderson born c1892. He served in the army R.A.S.C. I have found him at Aldershot Stanhope Lines in 1911.His Reg no. may be M/400813 as I found a medal card.I cannot find him as a casualty in WW1, but expect he served there.
I was helped before, so I hope someone can help me as this is the last link to who he was.
As the 1911 census at Aldershot is a block one it doesn't tell me where he was born.I was told he was Scottish but that could be false. Thanks

You could check whether he was born in Scotland by going to the Scotland's People website and if he was then his birth certificate can be saved or printed out.
