Gaza - What If?

  With everything going on in Gaza at the moment and no end in sight.
  
  If the arab armies had not made such a mess of things in the six day war. What do you think the situation there would like be like today, for instance if the arabs had made it all the way to Tel Aviv do you think the area would be more peaceful (compared to what it is like now) or would the situation just be reversed with the Jews hemed in to a small area firng rockets out at the arabs (they would probably have american made ones).

  How about -
  What if, just after the UN resolution on having two states in the area of Palestine, both sides had accepted the situation?

  ...Or what if seven Arab armies had managed to defeat the rag-tag Zionist irregulars in 1947?
  
  Or if the PLO had accepted the Barak Peace Plan?
  
  Or if the money spent on weapons had been invested in industry, agriculture and liberal education?
