    Can I just mention a programme that was on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Alba on 1st January, it was in Gaelic so would be missed by many people.

    The programme commemorates the anniversary of the loss of the HMY Iolaire on 1st January 1919 with the loss of over 200 servicemen returning home to Lewis after the end of WWI. The Western Isles suffered a higher loss of servicemen during WWI than anywhere else in Britain or the British Empire so this had a huge impact on the community that is still felt to the present day.

    The programme is available on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ iPlayer (it is subtitled).
