I'm looking for a decent (but preferably not too expensive!) book on the history of the Guards and Household Cavalry; my only relevant volume at present is the excellent but rather limited Pitkin Guide!
Any suggestions?
A few years ago the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ teamed up with Barney White-Spunner to produce a very well illustrated and more or less accurate condensed history of the H-HC called "Horse Guards: Illustrated History of the Household Cavalry".
It does not pretend to be a definitive history but it makes good and easy reading.
Probably remaindered by now...

Thanks for the suggestion. I've found a copy on Amazon for 14p!!
Less than the cost of P&P. That's a bargain!
Anglo-Normann,
Sorry for not seing this till now, and as 'Numbers' gave quite something on the cavalry bits and pieces, then for the infantry battalions - as this excellent site temororary is down - try the 'External links' following this site
