    A little help if possible

I have been given a postcard that belonged to my Great-grandad, On the back is written, Great Grandad Clark 1917,taken from the enemy's pocket.

It shows A German Soldier(I think)sitting on the barrel of an artillery piece he is wearing a peaked cap which has 2 buttons on it,1 above the other,he is wearing a jacket with buttons down the front and buttons around the cuffs,he has puttees on and has ankle boots on. In the background are other guns and what I guess are 2 wheeled limbers for the shells.

It is not a battleground picture but possibly behind the lines. The House in the background is intact and looks very "Heidi" like.

I know it is impossible to assist without looking at the picture, but I was wondering if any one has any info about the Uniform etc

    Cheers
    Lee
