I am looking for anyone that know my mum Mary Anne Robetson - know as Ann - mum was in the ATS - as far as I know stationed at Berwick, Folkstone and Inverness - Mum was Scottish - stayed at the Mornton Farm, Kingsbarns - Mum died on the 8th January 2008 after a long illness in hospital - but even after her stroke she talked a lot about her army days - I managed to get her the veterans badge - she was so happy about this - mum had her stroke in September 2004 - she was in hispital until she died after this - and while in hospital she thought the army was looking after her - she loved her army days - mum married my dad Dave in 1952 - sadly died in May 1978 - I am an only child as was born on July 1953 - I would like to try and do my my tree now - but I would like to find out more about mum's friends during the war - I am sure she had many. I think mum was a sergeant when she left the ATS.

There is a website about the ATS, it seems to have links to places where you might be able to make contact with surviving members.

There is a good chance that some might have married and stayed in the various places they served so it could be worth checking to see whether newspapers in those areas have columns to make contact with people.

The Inverness Courier has a "Seeking the Past" column.

Quite likely to be similar ones in the other areas.
