With the lightly armoured Land Rover being the standard mode of transport for the British Army patrolling in Iraq. Are they under equipeded to fight a modern war against determinded enemy.

From what you read it does not make much difference with the type of weapons being used in Iraq. Traditionally the British Army have often preferred to have good visibility rather than travel in an armoured vehicle with very restricted visibilityy especially when the armour is not going to protect you anyway.

The Humvee used by the US forces is also not an armoured vehicle even though the press often describe it as such.

Depends, Warriors and Saxon are used when needed.
But as stated, the British Army seem to think Land Rovers do the job too, they have 30 years experience in Northern Ireland, against what became a sophisticated enemy.
Remote controlled roadside bombs are nothing new to them.
