What was the Wednesday Club?

  I am currently reading a book called "Hitler's General's" in it, it describes that a lot of the high command of the German Army was againt Hitler, and tried to overthrow him. Some of them were members of something called the "Wednesday Club" but I have not been able to find any information about this outside of the brief mention of the book. There was also mention of the "George Circle" too, again no mention of this either on the internet. Can someone tell me anything about any of these? Thank You.

  I did read something quite a long time ago that there was something society calling itself "The Berlin Wednesday Club"
  
  It did consist mainly of intellectuals including a army generals.
  There were also Jewish members.
  
  I am not certain but somehow the date 1921 fits in somewhere as the start of the club.
  
  Will try to rake my brains(the little I got) a bit.
