Hello all, i'm rather new to all this. I need some assistance getting WWII maps of the island malta. They need to be close-ups of the actual island. Also, im trying to make sure the picture has historical details as to where airfields and ports where.

I'm trying to get this information in as a project study. I've looked all over the web but cant find any close-up's of Malta and it's airfields and ports.

    Can anyone help me please?

If I was you I'd try the Imperial War museum or the Public Records Office at Kew Not sure how much sucess if any you'll have looking for maps online. They have to be digitised and scanned in which for large papers like maps is less likely if not unlikely. Copyright is also an issue here, probably held by the Maltese Government. Sorry to sound a discouraging but you will probably have to spend money here. Good luck

There are several organisations that are interested in "fortresses", you could try contacting them as I am sure they must have had visits to the various defences on Malta. They might be able to give you tips on where to get information. These defences will be associated with airfields and ports so could lead to other information.

A book that I have has a small scale map showing batteries and airfields. There could be references to the more information in the bibliography at the back?

After the Battle may be worth consulting as well.

do you mean maps or photos ??

I have recently finished "Fortress Malta" by James Holland which is a day by day account of malta at war
It has a large scale map showing the airfields and a few interesting photos - takali airfield, valetta harbour under attack, valetta from the air etc - not real detail though
