Saw this programme last night, where they were discussing the defences put up by Britain following the fall of France, and they also told us of a war game in the 70s where they played out Operation Sealion. The great thing about that wargame was that it was done at the Royal Military Academy with some of the German planners of Sealion playing out the German role against some of Britain's top military of the day. And the outcome...? Well we repulsed the invasion after about a week, and whipped those Jerries good and proper!
This was based on 1940 when it has been almost universally acknowledged that such an invasion would fail, but it was very interesting to see it played out in a wargame and get an idea of what may have happened and how.
Bugger, someone's beaten me to starting a thread on this subject!
Eat my dust Stoggler!!
All hail to the faster man on the draw!!
It's not how fast you draw, but how straight you shoot.
