Dear Outgoingvix,
I would strongly advise that you ask either a Host or Moderator to remove your discussion as you should not in any circumstance post personal information, especially your mobile telephone number.
Furthermore, please dont expect an answer to your discussion on Charles I within minutes of posting your discussion. Historical Debates often take hours and perhaps even days to generate a response. In this instance those extremely knowledgeable on the British Civil Wars such as Minette or Tim are most probably engaged elsewhere and need time to consult notes or literature to generate a response to your discussion.
At the end of the day a Historical Message Board or the Internet for that matter is not a substitute for reading Historical Literature and Historical research.
Warm Regards
thank you that site was gr8
that number is made up i just need help on here
that number is made up i just need help on hereΒ somehow I doubt it is. I'm sure you'd be better served, given the time span, surfing the internet for youself.
If you're prepared to pay for it, Geoffrey Robertson's "What the Regicides Did for Us" is available on the 'History Today' website here:
You'll have to 'pay per view', though. The article is based on Robertson's book, 'The Regicide Brief', on John Cook, chief prosecutor at the trial, and argues that the trial was much fairer that traditionally supposed. It's a good summary of the main points of the trial.
actually if u dnt believe me that the number is fake try ringin it
I aint gona ring it. I imagine your phone has been turned off for the moment.
If you need to argue for or against his execution and dont have much info, just concentrate on the grand principles of the issue- such as whether the King's idea of divine right was appropriate, whether he was right to invade parliament and so on.
The History message boards are now closed. They remain visible as a matter of record but the opportunity to add new comments or open new threads is no longer available. Thank you all for your valued contributions over many years.
