Please can someone tell me if records are held regarding the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Guard and if so where do I look.Also my Grandmother was in the WRAF during the WW1 and my Mother-in-law during WW2 how can I find their Service history. Thanks in anticipation!

Small point, it would be W. A. F. F. s then The WRAFS came in after W W 2 Kew should be able to help. If you have a day to spare, they are worth a visit. Imperal Museum maybe, Hendon should but are not very forthcoming unless you are there. Good luck

given that you've said Mainwaring, why not take a trip out to sunny suffolk and see the Dad's Army Exhibition at the Bressingham Steam Museum? It's where the Tv series was filmed?
You'll also see some other interesting fittings and fixtures...

Have a look at www.a2a.org.uk That website will tell you where the archives are kept. Have had a quick search and it seems that each county keeps the records of home guard units within their area.
