after reading the article your thought of the incident mentioned below.

Yes, of course , we have all heard/read and seen on TV documentaries the massacre at Oradour- sur- Glane on the 10th of June 1944.

The massacre was committed by the SS Division " Das Reich"

If you take the time to log onto :

you can actually read the German version of this massacre.

After reading that version do come back on this board and post what you think about the whole affair.

    Dirk, okay,

the link is broken for some reason. Any chance you can repost. (I should look it up myself but I'm far too idle).

    Cheers AA.

    AA,

    Try to log onto:

That is the home page of Das Reich.

Navigate to the left at click on Masacre at Oradour sur Glare.

When on that page read of course all, but don't forget to scroll to chapter six and click on the article by Marc Rikmenspoel entitled The German View.

    Is this of any help?

    Dirk,

Yes, it was helpful, hmmh, interesting, and I would like to be able to spend the time and effort to go to Oradour and investigate further.
There are several contradictions. I'm not convinced by some of Rikmenspoels arguments regarding the bronze bell, although this may be due to a misunderstanding.

I must say that I find it more confusing the further I delve into it. I don't have any of the source material, and my French isn't up to some of the links (at a cursory glance).

    Hmmmh, AA.

    Hiya AA,

Yes it does make you think who is actually telling the truth.

Maybe Paul Ryckier might help out as far as the French links are concerned.

To be honest, due to my prejudices, I wouldn't like to say.

Maybe Paul Ryckier might help out as far as the French links are concerned.Β

    I certainly hope so.

    Cheers AA.
