They were produced by Andrew Chater and won a British Academy award in the Schools Factuals section 1n 1998. It got awarded in 1998 but the series is from 1997.

I got this information just by a few minutes og googling for the sport of it.

The Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ television archive is one of the largest in the world. The main collection dates back to 1948, but it also includes some fascinating pre-war demonstration films.

There are over one and a half million items of video and film, or about 600,000 hours of footage, ranging from news, documentaries, natural history programmes, dramas, and classic comedies, which would take about 68 years to trawl through if you viewed them back to back... But don't worry, as our staff will identify the best footage for your project, doing all the research groundwork, allowing you to concentrate on the creative process.

Selected material will be sent out on VHS. When you've chosen the clips you want to use, just contact Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Motion Gallery on 020 8433 2861 to arrange a licence. Contributor and third party permission will also need to be arranged for use of any material.
