and what did it decide to do in 1915? please get bak asap!
Italy was neutral, but eventually joined the allies.
Belgium was neutral in the conflicts in the Balkans but later joined the allies when Germany invaded France using Belgium.
That's why it was only fair the Germans got the Italians in the Second World War.....

Ha ha ha!
Very old joke. Think my grandad used to say it...
That said, who would you rather have as neighbours - Germany or Italy. No contest really!
Eliza.
Where I am from we have this saying, although I paraphrase...
God was looking down from heaven and decided to make the world. So he made the world and he was telling the angel Gabriel about his plans for Scotland. He said to Peter, in the land of Scotland I will create great glens, I will put lochs in it of the most majestic scenery. It's waters will flow full of salmon and trout, it will have great mountains that inspire all who seem them, and a people who will be the life and soul of any party. And Gabriel turns to God and says "oh lord, why in your infinite wisdow do you bestow such glories on one nation?" and God turns around to Peter and says "aye, but wait to you see the neighbours I'm gonna give them!"
He must have meant the Irish!
Eliza.
I thought you were going to do the joke about God giving the kitchens to the French, the bedrooms to the Italians, the office to the Germans and the drawing rooms to the English - and the angel getting muddled and giving the drawing room to the Germans, the office to Italians ... damn, doesn't work. Ends with the bedrooms given to the English. Or the kitchens.
At least I know the town planners one. It's the 'what kind of professional career does God have?'. The engineers say 'an engineer - think of the wonderful intricacy of the workings of the human body'. The artists say 'an artist - think of the wonderful beauty of the human body'. And the town planners say 'A town planner - who else would put the sewage works in the middle of the recreation area?'......
I have heard it said that God is a woman. You can try and try and try but you can just never please her!

Had a hangover?
No wonder they're all creations down that part!!!
Eliza.
Strange though, I though God liked trees - he put enough of them in the rainforests! (perhaps he just wantd a change, and so made Texas.)
In my youth, it used to be said that what NATO needed was: British leadership, German administration and American kit, Unfortunately, what it had was American leadership, British administration, and German kit.

Or, loosely translated, the ones muttering incomprehensively behind an array of buckfast bottles for the best part of two hours, before trying to pick a fight with the nearest person.

Eliza dear,
I have several hundred native oaks on my property, many of which are over 100ft tall, not to mention, Mesquite, Palms, and Huisache. So there.
Matt.
