I know of an old relative (now dead) who fought through the 1st world war and survived. However, he never went to collect his medals, due to the trauma of his experience.
I was wondering if on the slightest off chance, are, or do these medals remain is storage somewhere, awaiting potential collection from a member of the family?
If so, what’s needed in order to collect them, and is there anyone out there who’s managed to do this, based on similar circumstances?
Any information would be most appreciated.

Don't know if it will help, but if you know what regiment he served in, look it up in your search engine. They should be able to tell you how to claim them.

Thanks Fred, I'll try that. I think it was The Leicesters, but could be wrong.

Does this new office replace: MoD Army Medals, Government Buildings, Worcester Road, DROITWICH, Worcs, WR9 8AU? They normally require full service information including Army Regimental Number and, sadly, those seeking medals for relatives seldom have this type of data.
