I vaguely remember in my youth an old gent walking around Glasgow with a sandwich board reading 'the end is nigh'.
Did such doom-mongers become extinct at the end of the cold war or are they still in our midst?

There used to be one of them in Sheffield too!

    Wonder if he's still there?
Haven't seen any of them recently though, do you think the end got really nigh, and it actually happened but they forgot to tell us?

Perhaps they now are printing up the new board with "The end of the world was last Tuesday"?

    Cheers
    DL
