    what is the easiest way you find to revise dates and such like??

    It all depends on what dates and info you want to learn.

    My history teacher had a great idea and make words or phrases out of the first letters of important events.

    E.g remebering 4 main battles in the war of Spanish succession. We learnt BROM.
    B-lenheim 1704
    R-amilies 1706
    O-udenarde 1708
    M-alplaquet 1709.

    For big battles in the peninsular war we remembered Scottish Television or STV.

    S-alamanca 1812, T-oulouse 1814, V-ittoria 1813.
    In the industrial revolution section we revised HACCK. The following inventors were H-argreaves, A-rkwright, C-ompton, C-artwright and K-ay. I'm 26 now, we did this when we were 12 and I still remember it!

    We make timelines and highlight or colour-code linked themes. This helps a lot when trying to talk about different countires or events.
