My great grand father was awarded OBE ( my mother was quite sure ) in Singapore after the 2nd World War. He was helping the British but I don't know the history behind it. I was very young then. I would like to find out more but I don't where to start. He was a Singaporean when Singapore was part of the British Empire. I appreciate any help!
Hello
If he was awarded an OBE, the chances are it'll be recorded in the London Gazette, the Crown's official paper. They have every edition form the 20th century online
Good luck
Thank you Mark for the message. Sadly no luck. My grandmother still have some pics of him receiving a medal. I have also written to someone in the Imperial War Musuem.Still waiting for answer
