Pegasus Bridge museum is well worth a visit. We were lucky enough to go on a day when the curator was there. He had met many of the people involved in the operation, and was able to really bring it alive and give the sort of information that is often missed in museums.
The museum at Arromanche is also very good, with great explanations and a working model of the floating Mulberry harbour (the remnants of which can be seen on the beach outside).
We also visited the Merville battery. There is perhaps less to see there, but it is still worth a visit.
And of course the numerous cemeteries really bring home the scale of the sacrifice. There is a fairly large one at Bayeux (I presume you will also be visiting the tapestry whilst in Normandy?)
Anyway, hope you have a good time.
Cheers,
Mike
