I remember hearing on a documentary about how one of the cambridge five(I remember Kim Philby), used to go out drinking in Washington with (and was generally good mates with) the future head of the CIA (as I recall Allen Dulles)

As I remember it described, this had a massive effect on Allen Dulles how was overly paranoid for the rest of his career, believing the soviets were running everything, and any agents or defector the CIA recruited were really KGB double agents.

I need more information on this (I need to write an assignment on the Cambridge 5), but can't find any more info. Did this actually happen ? Have I got the details wrong ? Does anyone have a reliable cite ?

    Thanks all.
