How is it that the US, the most powerful nation on the planet, can allow a hand full of terrorists to hyjack and fly American aircraft into buildings in one of its biggest cities.

They seemed to be so certain they couldn't be attacked, despite the earlier strikes on the Twin Towers and other US targets. Remember the oddity that although the attack took place with a/c from internal flights, because of the poor security on them the US immediately blocked all international flights, including a lot of those going to Canada from overseas!

Steve

PS Are you sure this and the previous thread aren't just baiting expat because of his admittedly tiresome Anglophobia?
Anglophobia is a common abbreviation but I think expat32 has a thing about us all. A bit embarrassing such I corrected another poster for confusing English and British. <SMILEY TYPE='blush' H2G2='Smiley#blush'/><SMILEY TYPE='doh' H2G2='Smiley#doh'/>

Steve
Bish
If the terrorist wanted the targett could easily have been Picadilly Circus and Buckingham Palace,or for that matter a targett in any other big city in west.
All open societies are vulnerable to terrorist actions, hopefully arent you advocating a total dictatorship.
Remember the IRA bombings,if my memory isnt at fault was it ewen an atemted rocketattack on 10 Downing S.
Even closed dictatorship could have troubble with things like this look at German prankster M Rust who did land and take of on the red Square in Moscow under the Soviet era.
IMHO have you taken the US bashing a bit to far, dont you think those boards would be rather dull with only GB citizens here.

Expat,
Sadly we aren't allowed to use airstrikes in civilian areas the way that you guys do!
I do however think this is getting a bit out of hand now.
Cheers

Expat is a rarity. From my experience, he seems to be an American Liberal who for some reason hates his 'Socialist' cousins in Europe. Usually, American Libs love us.

Good afternoon your Lordship!
Personally, I suspect he's just trolling.
