I've found a possible ancestor on the 1861 Census. His place of birth is listed as:- "Prussia N.B.S." Does anyone know what these initials represent?
TIA

"Not British Subject"?
Thank you!
Sounds good!....although he was Naturalised in 1856 and in a later Census put place of birth as "Naturalised British Subject".
Oh! Maybe that's what it means!!
Thank you for pointing me in the right direction!
