I recently received a copy death certificate for my grandfather's first wife (Emma Steele) who died in Bamford, Derbyshire aged 28 on 25th April 1907. The cause of death (as far as I can decipher it)reads "Vomiting, morbus cordes. Syroscope confirmed April 19th".
Can anyone help me translate this into English, please ? My GP is stumped - anyone ever come across this ? We first thought that she may have died in childbirth as I believe we have found a birth registered around the same time. Any help appreciated.

Morbus cordis is heart disease. Syroscope could be syncope, fainting.
Hi, also found it on another site, it also said heart disease, but it also said it was usually used by doctors when they didn't really know the cause of death. Morbus is the latin word for disease. Best wishes, Jean
