TRYING TO TRACE MEMBERS OF THE JOBSON FAMILY
1700 TO 2005 LIVED IN COUGHTON AND COVENTRY IN
WARWICKSHIRE ALSO FOWKES AND ANKCORN? ALL
WARWICKSHIRE
Wow. Big open space out there.
There was a David Jobson aged 27 living with his parents Mary and William on the 1861 census. Thereafter he married a Jane and started his family.
1871 census
David 38
Jane 32
Liousa 8
Ellen 5
Richard 1
1881 census
David 47
Jane 44
Liousa 18
Ellen 15
Richard 12
George 6
Francis 3
Charles 3 - Twins?
1891 Census
David 54 - Widower
Ellen 8
Charles 13
All the above lived and where born in the most part in Coughton. Seems the dates are slightly out in the 1891 census. It wasn't unusual to lose a few years as time went on. Neither was it unusual to give children the same name as a deceased child.
Whoops
The Ellen in 1891 was actually 25 not 8. So that matches. Both Francis and George were servants in 1891 aged 13 and 16 respectively. Francis and Charles were twins as they were both registered together in June 1878. Liousa could well be married by 1891 as she would have been 28. No sign of Richard in 1891 (born about 1869)

Finally. David Jobsons parents, William Snr b 1802 and Mary b 1803 had a son in 1818 called William Jnr. Who in the 1861 census was married to Amelia. No children mentioned in 1861 census, but they could have married, and the family are not yet on the 1851 census. There is a William Jobson in the 1851 census but he was born in Kent.

There are no Jobsons on the 1851 census for Coventry
There is only one marriage I can trace for David Jobson in June 1848 to an Ann Dodds. As David was christened on 9th March 1834 this would make him 14 at the time. Unsure whether this is feasible. The whole family are on the 1841 census. David was 6. His siblings were
Charles 13
Mary Ann 11
Elizabeth 9
Emma 5
Owen 5months.

Found the one to Jane Hemmings too of course. As you say on 10th November 1861.
