I'm considering saving up and buying the 1841 and 1851 Lancashire Census on discs, could anyone tell me what kind of quality i should expect and how complete will they be ? i subscribed to a certain genealogist site to view the 1851 census to find it was nowhere near complete !!
Better still..has anyone got 1841/51census for Lancs. who could do a couple of look ups ?
Thanks in advance for any help.
I have access to the 1841 in the British origins.com website. Its a minimal monthly fee if you want to look. They have plenty of other stuff on there too - marriages etc . Check it out and get back to me if you don't want to pay out again.
Thanks for your reply Jowin1.
i've just had a look at that site and it doesn't seem to have Lancashire covered on the 1841 Census ? Unless i'm missing something ?
You are correct of course. A quick search in familysearch.org tells me that they have 1841 census for lancashire. It quite free. Hope you get lucky.
