    Hi

The birth records online and at the Family History centre are only Indexes. Therefore births are recorded in the quarter (March, June, September & December) when the event was registered and the place will be the registraction district. More significant the indexes only record the name of the person born and does not include the father's name. However, what is included in the entries is the mother's maiden name.

So if you can provide mother's maiden name and give an idea where the birth took place, it might help track down your brother.

    Regards

    Bill
