    Hi Bert
First suggestion is try finding out where your local archives is located and they should be able to put you on the right track.

Second suggestion ir try looking in at the following website: www.familysearch.org
At the top of the page you'll see a sign which says "Search", click on that and follow the links to the census page and highlight the British census for 1881, follow the instructions and hopefully Bob's your uncle. There is another section called "All Resources" whic may also be of some use.

    Good luck
    John

    Frederick b c1886
    James b c1890
    William b c1892
    Harry b c1887
    Herbert b c1896
Annie b c1882 but her name changed to Elizabeth by the 1901 census. They were all born in Blackburn.

There are 23 Douglas's born in Blackburn in Genesreunited which has a nominal annual charge. There is a Herbert who was born 1897 and the tree builders can be contacted. The other 22 Douglas's were all 20th century born and as late as 1996. I specified Blackburn but if you leave that out you will see hundreds of them.

    Good luck
