My Great Grandmother Ada Eliza Stredwick died 3 sep 1931 aged 55 ( have visited grave )
She married Albert George Sharp on 2 nov 1896 aged 22 ( father Samuel Stredwick witness E Stredwick) have marrige cert.
I have Ada in 1901 census.
In 1881 census she shows as Eliza Stredwick age 5 born Portslade Sussex ( ref Dave Annul )
I have chacked this as well, i have checked out the whole family and can only find enties of birth for her brother Harry (dec 1871 steyning 2B 259) and her sister Ellen ( dec 1873 steyning 2B 268)
I also have her father Samuel Stredwick in the 1861 Census
Has any body got any advice for me to find the missing piece of the puzzle (her birth)and that of her missing siblings Charles 1865, Jane 1868, Caroline 1870, Fanny 1878, Elizabeth 1880.
Ps other kind people have checked 1837 etc for me and i have been to may local history libary, my eyes are sore and my head hurts.
    Thank you Regards Trevor

Hi Trevor, I know exactly how you feel, I have a similar problem, but I can't find a birth index for any of the three children, the father was a carpenter journeyman and the children were born in North Shields, Blackpool and Kirby stephen, Westmorland. I think your best bet would be to try and find baptism records for them, try and find the parish church closest to where they lived and I'm afraid a few more headaches for you, whilst searching. I don't know where to search for mine, were they baptised where they were born? or did they travel further on their journey. Best wishes, Jean
