Trying to trace my Welsh grandmother's side of the family - can somebody help please. Her name was Frances Mary Charles, born 12th February 1905 in Wrexham, North Wales Her father's name was John Charles, a General Labourer, and her mother's name was Frances Mary Williams. Unfortunatly that's all the information I've been able to find out.
In 1901, there are a few families of Charles at Rhosllanerchrugog, Denbighshire, a couple of miles south east of Wrexham.
At least two of the families have sons called John, of about the right age to be the father.

Mistrust the occupations - the enumerator made various crossings out and used arrows to correct himself.
Looking at the places of birth in the census, it looks like nobody moved away from their home village. It's amazing anyone made it as far as Wrexham!
