As it's St Andrew's Day next week and there is a cold wind whipping around the bare legs and knobbly knees of the kilt wearers,I think the Wee Dram will be a good name for the new bar.
So if someone can bring the pets across so they can settle by the fire we can try a wee glass.
Pets brought across and tucked up, nice inglenook fireplace GJW! Wee dram for me thank you!
Too windy for a kilt! I've locked the door on the last bar and brought the pets and the knitting etc

No I'm afraid I made cherry and almond for this weekend Edna, but I can bakeone in no time I have all the ingredients.
Thats the trouble bertie I dont bake but just as well as I would eat the lot on my own as no one to share with and I dont have anita's willpower to freeze it.
I shall just have to settle for the without the then, did not do a shop this week just got a loaf.
Edna
Edna, I don't need will power to ignore chocolate cake or any other baking that I do as it doesn't bother me.....now fruit cake, well I need all the will power in the world to say no!

G'day all.....
Chocolate just for you, Edna......I can spare a slice from the one I made to take to the Skool Christmas Party today. It's a perfect day for an outdoor party.....about 24C maximum. It will be a trifle sunny for me....I shall have to seek shade as much as I can, even though I'll slather myself in sunscreen and I'll have hat, sunnies and cover up. At least it won't be one of our roasting hot days. Worst part is we have to dress up.....both owner and pet! And I just don't seem to be able to come up with suitable but simple ideas. I finally settled on red Bah Humbug t-shirts for both of us.....
Dee
I wish I lived next door anita, I would be passing my plate over the wall every day while watching you slim down I would be constantly gaining.

Boards like this and OTR are so helpful, aren't they Bertie? And they're even more so when you are searching for information from a great distance.

Hi Dee
A Christmas party for skool, how funny is that, it sounds more like a social gathering for the owners. Have a good time.
I wish you lived nearby Edna, to eat some of the cake and things, I have gained weight since OH has been off sick. After tuesday when GS comes for his birthday tea no further baking is being done in this house until Christmas week.
I would love to bake for you Edna....who knows one day I might get the chance.
Bertie that was good...more info than you needed...that doesn't happen very often!
I am going to say goodnight...I slept very badly last night and I am yawning my head off! Night night all.

Sweet dreams, Anita.
Bertie, the party is a social gathering for both dogs and owners. The dogs get to have a big play together off lead, and the owners a big chat. Then there are fun competitions for dogs and owners......like musical mats!
Ah, a wee drammie, just the thing!
Night night to those who have toddleddreams
see you
Yes, Jackie, soon be there ... I hope ...
I've read the other thread down, but brain doesn't seem to be able to concentrate ... wonder why?
Can't remember what has happened so s to you all and sorry, rather distracted at the moment ...

This is where we should have been going for a day out tomorrow:-
I'm disapppointed as I've wanted to go each time I've passed it in the car but there will be other times when OH feels better.

Your SiL is so well organised Edna. I have yet to wrap GS birthday pressies for Tuesday and write his card and cheque. I must get that done tomorrow.
I haven't a roast to do tomorrow OH said he didn't want one, so I'll cook a full brekkie and then do grilled goats cheese on a bed of leaves with toasted pinenuts and crispy pancetta for our dinner he likes that.

That's where I've been Paula....on the phone but totally detached!
I went Christmas shopping on Friday.....came home with such sore feet I had to sit with them up and a hot sack on them to try to get some relief. They still haven't recovered properly! But at least I only have two gifts left to find.....if only I had some ideas on what I could get.
I also had to do Christmas shopping for Mrs Dee but that was easy. She's buying all her families large tins of Scottish shortbread. Thank goodness for shopping trolleys!
hi Dee oooo Scottish shortbread, now yer talking

OH loved his fathers and uncles homemade shortbread, I have tried many different recipes over the years but none can match the memory of their baking so I don't make it often.

Hi Paula,
I have been on the other PC adding the photos of the trip to the glass factory to send out to people
I missed you coming in.
Dee I hate Christmas and dont want to shop for it, I wish I could give shortbread, how easy is that,
I give family money, sister has to have a gift, and GS little one and his big sister.
everyone else can whistle, last two years I bought friend a camera card, then a garden gift set and she laughed at them but I got not a thank you from her so a whistle is appropriate this year.
I dont even know yet if I am preparing a christmas dinner as usual until daughter gets news back.
I am watching Russel Watson return of the voice

Edna, I enjoy Christmas when I'm going to spend it with littlies around me, but that only happens occasionally now. I did enjoy that pleasure last year.
Yes, the shortbread is easy.....and Mum also gives we three children money. Otherwise it is all just too difficult for her.
Bertie, Mrs Dee always used to make wonderful shortbread for Christmas but now of course she can't. So last year I tried making her recipe and I must say it was pretty good for a first attempt. I'll probably give it a go again this year. (Sorry Paula.....I can't turn it into cyber shortbread!)
Now I must say g'dnight and go pack my picnic lunch and start to get organised for the party. Sleep well, my friends....... Dee <>peacedove>

I hope your daughter gets some news on Monday Edna.
We are just going to lunch at my daughters christmas day as she wants the children to have time playing with all their pressies. Son and his little family will be away.
I didn't get to see my brother in Taunton on wednesday as he really has the hump for no just cause as far as I can see. His son always collects him and has him every year but his wifes father is fighting cancer and she would like to spend christmas with her family which is totally understandable and my brother therefore is to go to his daughters. Well you would think that he had been abandoned they way he went on which makes me cross.

Good morning all and it's a very windy day here with a few showers but also some sunshine too.
Too windy for the pets so they are tucked up, fire lit and everything ready for customers.
Bar set up with a full English breakfast, bacon, eggs, sausage, beans mushrooms, tomatoes and hash browns. Tea and coffee on tap.
Hope everyone is well.
I am off to the gym shortly so I will see you all later.
Hello friends,
The sun is streaming through the windows its very windy here but dry.
I had a good long sleep so well refreshed.
Edna
Hello Edna and Anita,
my, I felt like Kathy out on the moors this morning when I walked the dog. Is it this windy where you are?
I am looking forward to the meet up in York on friday and finally getting to meet Anita and Jen. I dont know who else yet can make it but I got a txt from Mrs G who is coming with the boy
Finally getting over flu [i think, as I have more energy] and have been doing some seriously overdue housework.
Ill probably pop in a bit later. OH away doing more work on the album, so I have the whole of Bleak House to enjoy today and tomorrow [he hates costume dramas].

Good afternoon everyone,
I really had a good nights sleep and didn't wake up until past 9 this morning.
OH always feels in less pain today so is up and about at the moment.

Incase anyone else was like me and looking for bleak house today on the tv I texted Ruth and she has hired the dvd from the library. I thought I was in for a nice afternoon viewing.
Hello everyone from a sunny but windy day here in London.
Bertie, Glad that OH feels better today and that you had a decent nights sleep.
Ruth, Good to see you. Enjoy Bleak House.
I am catching up with the chores that didn't get done yesterday.
I phoned my rellie earlier to see how she was. Still not feeling well as her back is aching and she was tearful, though feels sure she would feel much better if she had a visitor I told her I couldn't drop everything today as I had washing and ironing to do. She too has some ironing but said "it is easier for you as you have have an iron press". Most of her stuff is drip dry-non iron so there cannot be much to do and probably wouldn't be needed at present.
Hello again all, had a really good session at the gym....worked of over 300 calories!
Ruth really looking forward to Friday!
Hi Bertie and anyone else who may be!
Glad to hear that your OH is feeling better today. Pity about missing your outing yesterday, but you can always do it when he is better
It is a beautiful day here today, after a very grey, damp, windy start.
Blossom, hope that your rellie is feeling better today. How are you and your OH?
Hope that everyone else is well
snap1
Well done again Anita. Hope you feel pleased with yourself.
Snap OH and I are fine thanks.Rellie still not feeling well. I hope you and Mum are too.

I am very pleased with myself Blossom...I never thought I would be capable of this sort of exercise levels.
A would be very welcome thanks. When No1 daughter and I went out for my birthday we bought some Christmas tea and it is very very nice, I can drink it like chai without milk.
