He was born Sept. 1909 in Sellyoak Midlands & died Jan. 1993, His fathers name was Henry Jackson. Does anyne know the family?
Hello Brenda and welcome to the board.
Do you want help to research this family as he may be on the 1911 census and someone may be able to find it for you, do you know if he stayed in Sellyoak or moved on from there elsewhere.

If you are looking for living descendants, you need to go to something like Genes Reunited, as we're not allowed to discuss living people on this board, I'm afraid
I have already checked Genesreunited trees and no one of this name and year born in Sellyoak on there only one for Kings Norton same name and year so not worth paying for a sub to it.

Thank you for your help. Don't know when he moved from Selly Oak, but was living in Ealing, West London around 1938 & married in August 1939. Did wonder if I should pay the money for the 1939 info which was gathered for the ration books etc due to the war. This hopefully would confirm his date of birth, as on his 2 marriages he gives his age which doesn't correspond with the death certificate details!

Death certificate details are only as good as the informant giving them , so if the dates vary slightly , it could be that the informant didn't kow of his exact age
Do the ages on the marriage certs tally? Death ages are often wrong as the info has to be taken from someone else who may not know his correct date of birth.
Is it very far out?

It has been known for people getting married to lie about their age (my great-grandmother took off about 8 years) , especially if there was a big gap in their ages and the information on the 1939 Central Regisration register may also be wrong.
