    The Edith James I am looking for was born 1886 registration Chepstow.
    From the Index Census there is one on index of 1891 with a Cardiff Reg. Age 5
    The Edith I am looking for married with a Cardiff Reg. Looking for family.

    I think this is your best bet - transcribed as ST Skewett but I think it's Port Skewett which is on the Severn estuary between the two bridges so near CHepstow. I note from the birth Reg she is Edith Louisa

    They probably had a son Leslie registered 1st qr 1914 - unless another couple moved to Glamorgan from London or Lancashire.

    Thanks everyone, info confirms that the lodger Thomas Davies on 1911 Census is my Uncle who I have been searching for many years.
    The Barry connectio n definitely confirms connection. Trouble now is I do not know what happened to him after 1911. His first name was actually William so dropped it on Census for some reason. Thanks again, at least I ha ve taken a small step from 1901 Census to 1911 Census. Syljun
