Afternoon hunters,
I am trying to find the birthplace/date and anything else for Fredrich Lehmann - (it's possible he was German/Jewish?)
I have some info on his children and grandchildren(living so no details of them) - all born in Thanet/Ramsgate Kent area during the 1900's but cannot get beyond that.
This is one of his sons:
Births Jun 1898 (>99%)
Lehmann William Richard Thanet 2a 938
and two more brothers (I think) Harry and Alfred and a sister Nellie.
Any help gratefully recieved...thank you hunters

Hi Edna...I've no idea if he married in UK and I was just doing a search now and starting to think that William/Alfred/Harry/Nellie's father wasn't called Fred after all!
If possible for a look up and see the Lehmann clan/Thanet Kent c.1881/91 please....
thank you

It's not this one (at least I don't think so at this point) The family is definitely German...
The census info you give for Harry Wuzenfels/fisherman etc..reflects the back story that I have on this family. Apparently one of the male ancestors 'jumped ship' somewhere - whether this was Harry or his father I don't know yet?
As I mentioned in reply to Edna's post not sure if Frederich is a family member yet?

I've just been going through all the Lehmann on 1901 and 1911 and I don't believe they just came here and went to Kent. Logically with the patterns of the Lehmann's and where they settled it doesn't ring true to me and I believe they probably came to Kent from another area of the UK, probably London. That's my theory.

The back story I have is that ' German grandad jumped ship and ended up in Ramsgate' - the family don't know anymore than that - what you hunters have found today has been a great help.
You may well be right though BB - maybe they did go to London - by 1930's the family were evacuated and went to the Midlands and eventually married and scattered all over the place...
thanks BB
