Ancestry is offering free access to WW1 service records from Thursday 10th nov to Sun 13th Nov. Records mainly include each serviceman's medical history, awards, conduct and casualty forms. No payment details are required (when the offer ends, you just won't be able to view the records, you don't pay anything).
Well it was written into my link that is still after days in moderation thanks to the triangle presser an no longer visible for anyone to see.

I see from the above link you can still get to the link I posted for the fundraiser for the poppy appeal so if you can use that then all is not lost, unless it too gets modded.

For anyone with rellies missing on a census, it's well worth a dig around in these records. I had everything on my Padgham family bar Frederick in 1881, an annoying gap. This free offer was on last year, & I was very pleased to find Frederick in the army stationed on Malta. His service records made interesting reading.
It is not all First World War records that are avaiable as officers' records have not been digitised, so it is the 'Other Ranks' that are available.
