I have asked before and thought I might have found her as she was found on a tree on Genes but no one is replying from there. Ida was born in Belfast in 1904 and gave her child up for adoption at a few weeks old in 1935. This child is now 76 and in ill health and would like to know details of her mother (where she lived and when she died etc). Is anyone able to help? Ida married Andrew Cecil Dunn in 1929. He is known to have remarried a few years after 1935.
    We are desparate!
    Thanks

It needs a bit more information for a better search. Where did Ida marry - in Belfast /Ireland/ Other. Was Andrew Cecil Dunn Irish. What is Ida's maiden name. Did Ida have another first name.

as none of us have been able to find the marriage, I would suggest you apply for the marriage cert from the Northern Ireland GRO, details here

this should be done to confirm what you already have been told. Sometimes the truth can get distorted....
I did find a John Dunn Gamble, wrong age and occupation to be her father but makes me wonder if he is related in some way

I should say, that once you have her exact birth date, it will be much easier to find her death if it was in England as death regs after a certain date have DOBs

    Thanks,
We already have her birth cert. What we would like to know is what happened to her in later life as her daughter had no contact from a few weeks old.

    Thanks,
We have her birth cert but no idea when or where she died. That is what we are trying to find out. It could have been anytime from 1935 - 1990.

    Joyce,

I have asked a contact in Ireland if she can find anything that may help but can't promise anything for you.
I will get back to you here if I hear any news that will help

Hi Edna, Sorry for the delay in replying. It would be wonderful if some info was forthcoming. Short of spending a fortune, we are stuck as to what to do next. Fingers crossed!

Joyce it may take a bit of time but register yourself at family tree forum as they have a PM system and I will be able to send you a message if I hear anything from my friend,

When you register on Family tree forum send me a personal message to say you have registered and your user name on there and make sure you tick the box in your profile to say you are to get notices when you receive a message.

My friend is in the South but will ask her friends in the North to check a few things for us.
Not promising anything but hope she can help you.

    Hi Edna,
Have done as you suggested, same username as shown. Not too computer literate so not sure how to send message on Family Forum. Will check again when more time.
    Regards,
    Joyce

OK Joyce you will probably need to wait until they send you a link to get in there and I will keep an eye for your name to come up and send a message to you just to say hello.
It may be some time before my friend gets back to me if she finds anything at all.

All you have to do is look on the board for my username and click on it and that will give an option to send me a message.
