Hi everyone,
I am planning to visit the National railway museum in York around early december and wondered if anyone fancied meeting up?
Im looking at the following dates:
Thursday 1st
Friday 2nd
possibly sat 3rd
Monday 5th
thursday 8th
Tuesday 13th
There is both a cafe and restaurant at the museum or, there is Bettys!!!
[there are of course numerous other places, if anyone knows of anywhere thats not too pricey and within easy walking distance in the town centre.
Let me know what you think,
Ruth

Hi Ruth, any day except a Saturday is fine for me, the earlier the better I think before the serious Christmas shoppers hit the city.

Ruth I've used this cafe, not too expensive and not too far to walk from the station.

I don't know about cafes but I can recommend a couple of nice bars There is a park and ride system that you can use from the train station into the centre but not sure if it goes by the museum.
I think any of those dates will suit me, I will go with the majority

I went to the Railway Museum in July, great place though I thought the cafΓ© there a bit pricey? Viewpoints differ?
There's a little road train- free- that shuttles the Railway Museum visitors to/from the town centre! I realised this when I walked back in the sunshine!

That sounds like a nice idea, a train back to the centre
If this is a tried and tested cafe then that should be the place we meet, after all, not everyones into trains [where is Mrs Grumbly]
It will be nice to see you all and finally meet you,
Ruth

Hi everyone,
Ive heard from the lady at the museum and she has a busy week, friday is the only day she can make it. So, if anyone is up for it, how about we meet at about 12ish in the cafe that GJW has mentioned?
Ruth

Just to confirm that the meet up in York on the Friday the 2nd will be held at the York Art gallery cafe, which comes on high recommendation.
I will be dashing from the Railway museum so if Im a bit late, dont worry. So far, Jen, Anitamo and Mrs G [and me of course] are coming but if anyone else can make it, the more the merrier. Dont worry if you cant decide till the day, you know where to find us.
Ruth
