My Great grandfather was Samuel George Turner and he was a driver for a Gypsy Ball in Stoke on Trent, the Bicknal area, in the 19th century. Anyone know anything about Gypsy Ball and his business?

I presume that "Gypsy" is a nickname and the actual company is Ball. I put gypsy ball into my search engine but nothing of any use came up. There are too many people with the surname Ball in the Stoke on Trent area but none actually named Gypsy Ball on fmp.
There is this in 1911

Earlier censuses indicate that there is a son Adolphus born 1882 London, but Johns younger children Tilly 1884 and Cornelius 1885, were born Hanley so they moved between 1881 and 1884 . Adolphus is also there in 1911 in Hanley as asst Auctioneer with his new family.
If this is your family, I am sure people will be able to dredge up more.

All I know is that "Gypsy" Ball was an Auctioneer and Antique dealer.. He lived in Bucknal but his business was in Hanley, Stoke On Trent. I am interested in his history.

Thanks so much for youur information. My family is the Turners but as Great Grand father worked for "Gypsy Ball" I was interested in him. You have helped me a lot.

Can you confirm that the Samuel George in Message 3, your Gt Grandfather? If so then people may be able to track some information on the John Henry Ball. He is the only Ball that I could fine who was an auctioneer.
As 'Gypsy' was a nickname, you may be able to glean some information using his real name rather than a nickname.
Jo
Actually, he is my husband's great Grandfather and it is the "Gypsy" Ball you have found because my husband remembers a little from his father. I am doing his family history but he is not really interested!!!!!
