Hi All,
I am trying to trace a James William Ingledew b 1864 allegedly in Manchester. He lived in Newport Buildings in 1907, when he married a Keziah Ghiradi (nee Taylor ). She already had two sons, Victor, and Ferdinand.
It seems that James died in 1941, possibly in a hospital / nursing home in Basingstoke.
If you have any information I would be very grateful
What a lovely name Ingledew. Can't see any births in that area but there are a couple in Yorkshire and one in Durham in 1863/65.
I wonder if his father was William and this is he in 1881.

Do you have the marriage cert giving fathers name?

ps familysearch has gone down so cant check there.
Theres a tree on Ancestry with the family on complete with photos , the place and year of death is different tho ,
I had seen that Bash, did 1942. The one died 1942 was born 1869 but born c 1864 Manchester. Father Joseph. But there are no exacts dates so I assume no certs have been purchased to verify the details
The only indication that he was from Manchester is on the 1911 census. So something is not right here as there is no census prior to 1911 and no births that match either.

hi
thanks for your comments.....
on the marriage certificate his father's name is given as Joseph, a ship's carpenter.I can't find any trace of him either. My suspicion is that the Manchester birthplace is incorrect, as even if his father was at sea, James should show up somewhere....
Hi,
That tree is mine. All I have is his marriage certificate, which gives the father's name. I cannot get a birth certificate, as not enough details. I think the problem is the Manchester birthplace. whether this is a deliberate lie to conceal say a previous marriage, who knows? It does effectively stop my research though !!
I am sure that he died 1941, Basingstoke.

These are the marriages for a Joseph Ingledew in a general marriage search between 1850&1870 so if his father is Joseph then check out these areas for the birth of James
