  Hi all,
  
  Thought I would vent some frustration if that's ok.
  
  As some of you may remember, from quite some time ago, I mentioned that my Dad is adopted and I have been given some very useful advice from this messageboard and others. My Dad had his meeting with the social services in April this year. He was given his birth name and natural mothers name. They were then going to apply to the courts where he was born for case details on his actual adoption. Anyway, 6 months down the line we have just heard that notes cannot be found. Social services are also trying to locate his birth mother, but as yet, have been unsuccessful. I have been doing a bit of digging myself and have found some very interesting and exciting leads but I know I can't use them....I have found a family website (with contact details) and found who I believe is her son (from her marriage after my Dad was born) on genesreunited. I know I can't use these possible contacts but it is so frustrating to be within possible reach of information but unable to go any further.

  Hang on in there - when the time is right everything will fall into place...you never know there may be a 'set back with paperwork' because your gran has asked for a little time to consider what is going on? All sorts of reasons why bureaucratic things grind to a halt...Have you tried FB? Gene/u**ed?
  
  I'm not sure why you 'cannot use these contacts'? I know if I had found someone I would just go for it regardless although ask your dad's permission first... whatever the outcome at least you will have a resolution of sorts. Just brace yourself for all outcomes and it will be easier for you to accept any eventualities!

  Hello SBW I think I have told you before to join Family Tree Forum as people there have the knowledge to offer advice and also have some connections.
  They also have a PM system for giving details that can not be posted.
