Hello hunters,
I am still hunting for info on John Cadman b.1852/3 Nabb, Shifnal Shropshire - mother Martha. (plus all the info from previous posts.)
What I want to do now is find out if John Cadman was related to Rev.Dr. Samuel Parkes Cadman b.1865 (parents Samuel and Betsy Caman)...
Fingers crossed on this one - I know there are 2000+ Cadmna's in the Shropshire area throughout the 1800/1900's...I think it will be a miracle if you can find the link - I scratched my head to bits and cannot fathom the link yet!
And if anyone could find the birth for Samuel Parkes Cadman - greatly appreciated...
thank you
BH

Due to the birth of Samuel Parkes Cadman and working on the theory that mmn is often the childs middle I looked for a marriage between Cadman and a Parkes but all I could find was this possible one:-
Marriages Jun 1906 (>99%)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cadman Robert Dudley 6c 78
HOMER Alice Dudley 6c 78
PARKES Sarah Dudley 6c 78
Sidaway Thomas Dudley 6c 78
Off course this doesn't confirm that Robert Cadman married Sarah Parkes or if they are anything to do with the Cadman family you are looking for. I'll have a look on 1911

I looked for Samuel,born 1906, death as I couldn't find him on 1911 no luck I'm afraid.

The 'Parkes' name came from SPC's mother - 'Betsy Parkes' - the young Samuel Parkes H Cadman may be related (SPC was very famous Methodist minister in New York USA during the late 1890' - 1930's and died there too) and likely the family you mention may have been either related or just a coincidence or no relation whatsoever just called their child after someone 'famous' because that's what people do sometimes with the same surname?
Although on saying that - Dudley is in the West midlands and my Cadman's are Shropshire peeps...close-ish
still hunting!

I think the JC i'm looking for has a different birth date than the one you propose Edna - unless of course you can enlighten me - this search has been the toughest - do you think the William and Ann Cadman could be related to Martha maybe?a fresh pair of eyes and expert thought so any info gratefully received...
thanks E

The 1851 census has a Martha Cadman born 1821 Shifnall with husband John (furnace man) born Lilleshall 1814 and a daughter born 1838 Wrockwardine. All living in Nabb.
That being the case the 1841 census that has Samuel Cadman b 1828 to parents Samuel and Sarah born c 1806 in Shropshire means that if they are related it must be through the previous generation.
My apologies if you have this already, I cannot see previous messages regarding this name.

Here are all the Cadman's from the area and the only Martha seems to be from the 1847 Mainslee area I have checked right through about 20 pages of names and only other Martha Cadman was in the mid 1700s
