There is a marriage of a James Smith and an Elizabeth Kinton that took place in Kensington 1838. Would anyone be good enough please to see what profession James has put forward for this marriage?
In 1841 he was a brickmaker, but appears thereafter as a labourer.
Many thanks
Ewan

Oh, hi Bash.
I was just going to post the same thing (i.e. that I couldn't find it).
STG
for reference:-
Name: KINTON, Elizabeth
Registration District: Kensington
County: London
Year of Registration: 1838
Quarter of Registration: Jan-Feb-Mar
Spouse's last name: Not available before 1912
Volume No: 3
Page No: 146
a James Smith is on the list as a possible groom.
Ignore me !! was spelling Elisabeth with a Z !! on free BMD it's spelt Elisabeth
I can't see the marriage on LMA records on Ancestry , not every parish gave their records to be transcribed ...... only way of finding out is to get the marriage cert

Hello Jan and STG
The couple lived in Hammersmith, so if this marriage can't be found on ancestry it is probable that they married at St Pauls Hammersmith. It is only St Peters Hammersmith, I believe, that is on ancestry.
Thank you for your time and interest though it is much appreciated.

Yes on freebmd it is spelt with an 's' but if you look at the original on there it is quite clearly a 'z'.
