    Hi,

Welcome to our message board. If you have not already seen it there is a link at the top of the page to our new members' welcome which explains how this board works and below it is the Data Protection Act issues we adhere to, so that we can't discuss people who are or are likely to be alive.

Do you have any certificates or census entries as this helps us to advise you, the best way is to start from what is known. By the use of certificates and census entries you should be able to get back to the early 19th century without too much problems, transcription errors excepted. It is useful to know which country you are talking about as Ireland and Scotland have different systems from England and Wales. There are websites like Genes Reunited and ancestry where you can contact people who may have researched one of your lines, but they may not have the actual certifcates etc.

    hello angelabushby,

Please read our Welcome message near the top
We are not allowed to discuss living people so your father born 1949 may well still be alive, data protection rules.

If you want help with your research this is what we do best.

We can not put you in contact with living people but once you get back far enough you can chech out trees on other sites to find living relatives.

    Edna
