Hello, I am new to this site and I am hopig someone can tell me where I can find records for a James Hayes of Freckleton. , Lancs. He and his son ran a hardware shop in Freckleton in in 1920s and 30s but despite much online research I can find nothing about him or the business.

Also does anyone know if the records of the Robert Davies Nursing Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ in West Derby, Liverpool still exist and where they can be found ?

These are BMDs in Freckleton taken from the lan opc site

Baptisms: 19 Nov 1884 Holy Trinity, Freckleton, Lancashire, England
Elizabeth Ann Hayes - Child of John Hayes & Margaret

Baptisms: 6 Oct 1889 Holy Trinity, Freckleton, Lancashire, England
Jane Ellen Hayes - Child of John Binn Hayes & Hannah

Burial: 12 Aug 1893 Holy Trinity, Freckleton, Lancashire, England
    Hannah Hayes -

Burial: 31 Dec 1898 Holy Trinity, Freckleton, Lancashire, England
    Gerald Hayes -

Only go up to 1900 I think

Lancashire record Office in Preston will have the records for Frekleton and possibly records about the buisiness.

I think if there are records for the Robert Davis Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ they will be in Liverpool Record Office, May still be in the top floor of the Museum Building as a refurb is going on.

If you have more info on the family we may be able to offer further help if you need it.

Thank you for the information, Edna. My gt grandfather John Binns Hayesborn 1859 was the son of John Binns Hayes (snr) and Jane Rowlinson. John and Jane married in the Manchester Cathedral on 10 December 1849. Their marriage certificate states that their fathers' names were William Hayes, a Spinner and John Rowlinson, an Umbrella Maker. I cannot find any moe information for John and Jane or their respective parents. If you or anyone can offer any help I would be very grateful.

Hello Jo, thank you for replying to ;my earlier post. I have seen the 1881 census but although the names and ages for John, Hannah and James are correct,, I am not sure it is them John is not the son-in-law of Robert and Olive Andrew. Hannah's full name was Margaret Ann Norcross and her parents were James Norcross and Elizabeth (Betty) Kilshaw. I do not have any Andrews in my family tree andI have no idea what relation (if any) they are to John or Hannah.

I know the census enumerators sometiimes recorded the relationship incorrectly, so I can only assume they were lodging with the Andrews family.

    Hi there

Sometimes on censuses the relationships were pretty inaccurate. Sometimes they were correct but sometimes not. If someone was unsure what the relationship was they would just say a relative or in law. The fact that Robert and Olive are about 2 generations away from John and Hannah, could mean that they are actually related in another way two generations back.

Checking for the Andrews on earlier censuses may unfold a connection to either John or Hannahs lineage.

I will see what I can find, though someone may beat me to it.

    Jo
