    Tigzak,

Either Bradford library or the Bradford Telegraph and Argus would be the best place to get this info. Not too sure if the paper has an archivist you could contact to see what info they might have. The library has copies of the local papers for this time on microfilm that you could check when you go to collect your library card smiley - laughsmiley - laugh and I know that they have a machine there that you can get them to print off anything you want from it for a small fee.

The other place you might find photos is a Bradford local history book as I seem to recall this was quite a signifcant local event. There was a memorial for the fireman killed in the disaster, if I am thinking of the right one, that was either at Scholemoor cemetery but then moved to the Fire brigade headquarters at Birkenshaw or vice versa.

I don't think I'll be getting to Bradford library for a week or two but I'll email you when I next get the chance to go, so if you've not visited in the meantime, I'll have a look for you.

    Linda

    Tigzak

Everything you want is on the website of the Low Moor Local History Group. I'm not sure if this message board allows links. If it does try:

If it does not then Google 'Low Moor Explosion Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Page'.

    Best wishes,

    TP
