Albert was a tinsmith and then a fairground traveller. On some census it says born 1840, London. I can find him from 1861 onwards but not before. I found his marriage certificate in 1861 where it says he is 20 and that his father is John Wheatley a musician. Can anyone help.

You don't say where Albert is living in 1861/71 onwards? Might help with his location prior to that, though as a traveller that could be anywhere!
I've had no luck at all with this one.
Where did he marry?
For info this must be him in 1881 from the description.

How sure are you he was born in London? he also gives Norfolk as a birth location and as usual, the names of the children are often switched around.
Is this the marriage you have in 1861? Erpingham is Norfolk.

ok, so by going through the baptisms in London I found a John Wheatley who was a musician.. wrong son's name but something perhaps to persue

the mothers name has been mistranscribed and I can see why.. it looks like Mirnu on the image
I'm guessing he married Mary Ann Reynolds as she is a hawker in Norfolk in 1861 aged 20.
Yes it was Mary ann Reynolds. Most of the census says London I think only one said Norfolk and as was said the children were transposed on the 1881 census but cannot find either Albert or his father John Wheatley.
This is correct. The trouble is the fairground people move around a bit although it seems they go back to Norfolk quite a bit and have their children and die there.

There's another one in 1824 for a daughter Emma Harriet and mother is down as Mirion. Father John Francis musician.
This could be the marriage of the parents.
John Frances Wheatley

Marion Glindon
St George the Martyr
1841 Emma appears to be in the District Bridewell Hospital House of Occuption. There is also a Thomas Wheatley age 12 there
On the image for the marriage of John Francis Wheatley and Marion Goldon, it says both are of this parish
this is possibly another son who died

its possible the same Edward Wheatley is in Greenwich workhouse in 1851... if he is a son, then they all appear to be in industrial schools or workhouses in 1851
