Albert was a tinsmith and then a fairground traveller. On some census it says born 1840, London. I can find him from 1861 onwards but not before. I found his marriage certificate in 1861 where it says he is 20 and that his father is John Wheatley a musician. Can anyone help.

You don't say where Albert is living in 1861/71 onwards? Might help with his location prior to that, though as a traveller that could be anywhere!

Is this the marriage you have in 1861? Erpingham is Norfolk.

ok, so by going through the baptisms in London I found a John Wheatley who was a musician.. wrong son's name but something perhaps to persue

I'm guessing he married Mary Ann Reynolds as she is a hawker in Norfolk in 1861 aged 20.

Yes it was Mary ann Reynolds. Most of the census says London I think only one said Norfolk and as was said the children were transposed on the 1881 census but cannot find either Albert or his father John Wheatley.

This is correct. The trouble is the fairground people move around a bit although it seems they go back to Norfolk quite a bit and have their children and die there.

1841 Emma appears to be in the District Bridewell Hospital House of Occuption. There is also a Thomas Wheatley age 12 there

its possible the same Edward Wheatley is in Greenwich workhouse in 1851... if he is a son, then they all appear to be in industrial schools or workhouses in 1851
